Gucci

I wanted to share the beautiful life of my beloved and dearly missed dog and best friend, Gucci. She was a cuddly maltipoo, and got to travel the country with our family over the last 16 years. She lived in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, Texas, and Delaware. She flew on a plane with me twice, and got to enjoy time with me during my college years with my roommates who all adored her. She enjoyed going for walks, but did not enjoy meeting other dogs other than the ones she lived with in our home. She was a feisty little one, who was spunky and full of energy and very protective of her loved ones. Gucci loved to lay on everyone’s lap, lay in the sun, eat pigs ears and other treats, and go with me on adventures and car rides.

Gucci was very protective of our kiddos once they came into the world, and enjoyed being a big sister to them for the last 8 years. She enjoyed all the crumbs and scraps left behind, especially when the kids were learning how to eat on their own. My favorite trip with Gucci was when I was with my husband in a tiny house in Fredericksburg, Texas for our baby moon. We got to go fishing, enjoy the outdoors, and sleep in a very small 250sq foot home. Gucci loved being outside and walking on the trails there with our other dog (who came into our lives many years after her), Kirby.

Gucci was besties with Kirby, and then most recently, Rocky. Kirby and Gucci played endlessly together when they were younger, and would wrestle each other over attention and treats. Rocky would guide Gucci down the steps in her older years, and help her find her way outside as she lost her sight. Even in the snow and ice storm we had, Rocky would help her get down the steps to go outside. Gucci did not like the cold, and she didn’t like getting wet from rain either.

Gucci made me happy on days I felt empty and lost, she would give me comfort when I couldn’t hold myself together, and would always give me kisses and cuddles when she knew I needed it most. She loved to sleep cuddled up behind my knees, especially when it was cold. She gave me 16 years of love that I would never trade for anything in the world. Gucci was a loyal, sweet, and loving companion, and will be missed greatly by our family for the rest of our days here on Earth.
